How to Hide Game Updates from Friends on Facebook

When you login to Facebook and click the Home tab, you see the latest news, photos, etc. from your friends. Isn't this why we love Facebook? But even with a modest number of friends, there can be a lot of reading material waiting for you if you haven't logged in for a while...

It would be easier, however, if you didn't have to see the numerous Game updates from your friends (Farmville, Fish Word, Bejeweled, etc.). Right?

GREAT NEWS! You can stop the Game updates from displaying, but see everything else!! Here's how:

Find a game update from one of your friends on your Home page. Hover your cursor over the upper right corner of the post and a "HIDE" button will magically appear. Click Hide and a narrow box will open giving you the option to just hide that particular game, or hide all updates from your friend. To just hide the game updates, click the game icon.

Do you want to "unhide" something? Click Home and click News Feed - not Live News Feed.

Go to the very bottom of the page and click Edit Options. The Hidden from News Feed box will open.

Depending on what you have hidden in the past, there may be tabs at the top for Friends, Pages, Applications, etc. Click on the appropriate tab, and then click Add to News Feed to "unhide" the updates for that particular friend, game, etc.

Then click Close.

Thanks! I was hoping I could do this. It was so easy, too.

It is a relief to finally find the answer. All those game updates sure do get in the way.
